The Montpelier Energy Fair!

Come to the Montpelier Energy Fair, hosted by the Montpelier Energy Advisory Committee (MEAC), on Monday, March 4th, 2013 from 5:30pm until 8:30pm at National Life!

This event is designed to empower citizens with the information they need to make substantial energy improvements to their homes, such as weatherization, fuel switching, and adding solar technology, as well as providing transportation options. The Montpelier Energy Fair will be a fun, festive event designed to draw attendance from the diverse people who call Montpelier home. We are also using the Fair to kick-off Montpelier’s participation in the Vermont Home Energy Challenge.

The Fair will serve as a one-stop source for all energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable transportation, and financing resources available in Central Vermont. The event will provide residents with an opportunity to learn more about the rebates, financing, and vendors available to help them makes sustainable technology changes to their homes. We are inviting local Energy Star-certified contractors and renewable energy vendors, local and statewide environmental NGOs, local banks and credit unions, and others to share their knowledge and resources with the local community. As an organization that specializes in one of these areas, we are hoping that you will be able to attend and provide your expertise.

Hosting a table at the Fair is free. However, we ask that you reserve your table by Friday, January 18th. Please send an email to anneofvermont at gmail dot com indicating your interest, along with contact information for the person who will attend the Fair. We are also seeking sponsors for various aspects of the event. If you are interested in raising your organization’s profile at the event, please indicate this in your confirmation email.

MEAC is happy to provide you with more information about the Montpelier Energy Fair and the objectives for our weatherization and renewable energy goals. Feel free to write to us - leave us a comment here, and we'll be in touch!

  1. What a great opportunity to get a bunch of home efficiency questions answered. I'm looking forward to attending this event.

It's time we took efficiently operating our homes more seriously. The science behind what needs to happen to a home to make it more energy efficient is far advance from just a few short years ago. New products and services are available making it much more doable.

Are you going to do it? Come to the Energy Fair and get the answers you need to make an informed choice.

While you're there, find out about the Vermont Home Energy Challenge!
